Fornex crypto hosting review

We have worked with Fornex for ten years and hosted more than 1,000 client SEO websites on its virtual dedicated servers, or VDS. In our experience, those sites have run consistently and reliably. One of our servers has been running for ten years without a failure. Our relationship with the provider began long before this paid partnership.

Fornex offers shared hosting, virtual servers, physical dedicated servers and S3-compatible storage. Customers can pay in USDT and other cryptocurrencies.

An editor can manage a conventional website through cPanel. A developer can have root access for custom software. A larger project can rent a whole physical machine. Those are different purchases, even when the same company sells them, and the cheapest plan is only useful if it fits the work.

Fornex's listed operators include Fornex Hosting S.L. in Spain, alongside entities in Cyprus and the United States.

Plans and prices

Shared hosting is the simplest option for a standard website. Fornex uses cPanel, with email accounts, databases, PHP controls and one-click CMS installation through Softaculous. Free Let's Encrypt SSL, daily backups and migration assistance are included in the advertised offer.

The WEB-25 plan is advertised at €4 a month, with 20 GB of NVMe storage, 1 GB of RAM, two CPU cores and room for up to 25 websites. That last number is an account limit, not a promise that 25 busy publications will fit comfortably. The storage, memory and CPU allocation still have to cover their combined workload.

For an application that needs its own environment, the VPS range is more useful. One advertised entry-level configuration costs €5.50 a month for one CPU core, 1 GB of RAM and 10 GB of NVMe storage. It is an inexpensive starting point for a modest workload, with larger configurations available as it grows.

These are advertised examples, not checkout quotes. Location, configuration, billing period, VAT and paid software licences can affect the final bill.

Server control and locations

Fornex's VPS products use KVM virtualisation and provide full root access, with Linux and Windows options. The server controls cover rebooting, reinstalling the operating system, monitoring and upgrades. Snapshots and custom ISO uploads give a developer more room to work than a shared-hosting account allows.

Physical dedicated servers are a separate product. You rent the whole machine, with root access and IP-KVM/IPMI access for remote management. That can matter when the operating system will not boot and ordinary SSH access is no help. It also means taking responsibility for the server's maintenance, either yourself or through an agreed management service.

Shared hosting and VPS list six countries: Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and the United States. Dedicated-server locations are narrower: Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden. Choose from the locations available for the actual product, rather than assuming every plan is sold in every country.

There is also S3-compatible storage in Germany and the Netherlands. For a media project, it offers a separate place for backups, images or an archive, accessible through familiar S3 tools such as rclone. Buying storage is only part of a backup plan, though. Someone still needs to configure the copies and check that they can be restored.

Paying with USDT

For teams that already receive payments in stablecoins, crypto billing is a genuinely useful feature. Fornex lists BTC, USDT, ETH, USDC and TRX, as well as Visa and Mastercard.

Its balance top-up guide supports USDT on TRC-20 and ERC-20. You fund the account, then pay for services from that balance. Follow the network instructions shown in the payment flow; a supported token does not mean every network carrying it is accepted.

Two conditions are worth reading before transferring money: the documented minimum without verification is €100, and cryptocurrency payments are non-refundable. Document verification allows smaller crypto deposits. If you only want to try a small plan, check those conditions before putting more money into the account than you intended to spend.

Support and server management

Fornex advertises technical support around the clock. Its migration offer is useful if you are moving an existing website and would rather have help transferring the files, database and mail than rebuild everything manually.

For VPS and dedicated servers, free basic management has a defined scope. The published policy covers HestiaCP or BeAdmin on Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 for eligible direct customers. Listed tasks include initial setup, standard packages, basic tuning, backup configuration and migration of up to ten websites per order.

That can take routine work off a small team's hands. It does not turn every custom application into a fully managed service. If your project depends on a particular stack, describe it in a ticket and agree on who will install, update and troubleshoot it. The distinction becomes important the first time an application fails but the server itself is still running.

Media, iGaming and political projects

For an ordinary publication, the choice mainly comes down to the software, audience location and workload. An iGaming project needs a content-policy check as well.

Fornex's terms prohibit gambling-related resources on shared hosting and VPS, including casino mirrors, redirects and sites linking to betting services. VDS means a virtual server; it is not the same as a physical dedicated machine. Dedicated servers are not named in that particular restriction, so they are the product to discuss with support for such a project. Get written confirmation for the actual site and location before ordering; the general terms and applicable law still apply.

Political publishers should also describe their content when choosing a service. Paying with crypto does not make a hosting account exempt from the provider's rules.

Our view

We like having crypto billing alongside ordinary hosting tools. It makes Fornex a useful option for a team that already works with stablecoins, without requiring it to run a server just to put a website online.

Our starting point would be shared hosting for a conventional CMS site, a VPS for custom software, and dedicated hardware when the workload or project requirements justify it. Settle the location and maintenance arrangements before choosing the configuration. Then compare the final price. See Fornex's plans and send support the details of your project if you need help choosing.
