Vivo will launch the V80 in India on October 6, 2026. The company has confirmed the date through its official community account, with video recording at the centre of the announcement. For buyers, the remaining question is less about whether the phone exists and more about what it will cost.
The announcement from vivo India highlights 4K Cinematic Video and a movie-inspired LUT, a colour treatment used to give footage a particular look. It is a launch announcement, not evidence of how the camera performs in everyday use.

Vivo V80 specifications: what the official pages say
Vivo's India product page lists a 7,200mAh typical battery capacity, up to 90W charging and a 144Hz 1.5K OLED display. Its camera presentation includes a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera, 4K Cinematic Video and 4K recording at 60 frames per second.
Those are manufacturer specifications. Battery capacity alone does not establish how many hours the phone will last, and charging power is a maximum rather than a promise that it will stay at that level throughout a charge. Vivo itself notes that actual charging power changes with usage conditions.
The separate official specification sheet supplies more detail:
| Feature | Listed specification |
|---|---|
| Processor | Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 |
| Software | OriginOS 7, based on Android 17 |
| Display size | 6.59 inches, measured across the full rectangle |
| Listed memory configuration | 8GB RAM and 128GB storage |
| Storage type | UFS 3.1 |
| Colours | Stellar Black, Horizon Blue and Sunrise Anthem |
| Ingress protection | IP68 and IP69 |
Treat that memory configuration as the one listed on the page, not a complete prediction of every option that will be offered at launch. Buyers should check the final India sales listing for the exact variant they want.
The camera pitch is aimed at people who shoot video
The launch campaign is selling a particular use case: portraits and shareable footage, rather than just a longer specification list. The official launch page describes a 50MP telephoto camera with optical image stabilisation and 3x optical zoom, alongside a 50MP main camera and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera.
It also advertises zoom up to 100x. That should not be confused with the separately stated 3x optical zoom. For anyone comparing phones, sample images at the focal lengths they actually use will be more informative than the largest number in the campaign.
We have not tested the V80. Low-light video, moving subjects, microphone quality and sustained recording are still things to check in independent hands-on coverage rather than infer from the announcement.
What about the Vivo V80 price in India?
The official sources checked for this report did not provide a confirmed India selling price. We are therefore not attaching an estimated rupee figure to the phone or presenting a rumour as a launch offer.
The useful details to watch on October 6 are the final price, available configurations, first-sale date and any conditions attached to discounts. A headline offer involving a bank card or a trade-in is not necessarily the price every buyer can pay.
For now, the V80 has a confirmed launch date and a substantial set of published specifications. Whether it is a good buy will depend on the price and real-world results, not the promotional images.
